Top Ten Movie Countdown Blogfest and The Call Review

Hosted by Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh!

I've seen many films, so this is hard for me to narrow it down. I see recent releases, so you won't see many old releases on my list. I love staying current with cinema.

1. Titanic
2. Avatar
3. The Artist
4. The Wizard of Oz
5. Bridesmaids
6. The Blind Side
7. Toy Story 3
8. Argo
9. Silver Linings Playbook
10. Inception

What films are on your list?

* * *

911 dispatcher Jordan (Halle Berry) saves Casey Welson (Abigail Breslin) from a serial killer (Michael Eklund). The Call is very intense and suspenseful, but not enough. The story is predictable with a surprise ending. The film has two-dimensional characters, so you don't root for them. It could've been better. Not recommended. Good rental. C+

Did you see The Call this weekend?

  1. Now Bridesmaids for me, was awful... I didn't get it, it must be a guy thing... cause I couldn't stop laughing in Hangover...

  11. This is an excellent list Livia and The Blind Side was great. I'm surprised about the Call since the trailer really sold it.

  12. Great list, Livia! It's fun (and right) to see some newer films listed. I think a lot of us tended to stick with "classics."

  31. Titanic and Avatar have appeared on far fewer lists than I expected. Wizard of Oz is one that should have been on my list but I overlooked.

  32. A great list and a movie review to boot. ;-) Wizard of Oz is a great choice, one that slipped my mind. Bridesmaids was hilarious! I keep seeing Inception, and it's one I haven't seen--guess I need to.

Unlike you, a lot of my choices were older. Thanks to 3 kids, I am not very current with adult movies. *sighs*

  33. OOH! We have very similar taste in movies!!! Love your choices. I watched THE SWITCH on tv this weekend. The hub tvo-ed it for me. Has Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman. Very fun show.

  34. I want to see "Argo"! Saw the first "Toy Story" with my kids and loved it. Cried like a baby at the end of "Toy STory 3"...thinking about my kids going to college.

Thanks for being a host of the "A to Z Challenge"! I'm excited about participating.

  36. Avatar gets a lot of heckling for being some sort of cross between Fern Gully and Pochahontas. But say what you will, it was an amazing movie and while it's not in my top 10, it's in my top 20 for sure! :3
